Black Forest, Germany - any recommendations please?

We are looking to go camping somewhere in/around the Black Forest.

Does anyone have any recommendations for campsites please? Have 3DC's (8,5,2), so a pool would be nice. We have our own tent, so just need a pitch.

Also, any recommendations for nice areas? Have heard Freiburg is nice.

Thanks!

I've been watching your thread, fairy, as I am interested in the Black Forest.
hopefully this bump may attract some evening traffic that can help.

Bumping as well! We want to go to the Black Forrest too! Freiburg is lovely but I've never camped in the area.

Herbolzheim is a nice site. I haven't been in years but its very close to Freiburg!

Thanks MissW - I will check that out, I haven't seen that one yet in my searches!

we have booked one for this summer. Never been before so really can't vouch for it but it looks pretty good www.campingpark-oase.de/en

We went here two years ago after I remembered it being an amazing site as a child. Excellent location for black forest, France and Switzerland too. It's an expensive site and not as spacious as many French ones, but the toilets and showers are the poshest campsite ones I've ever seen!!

Thanks Miss W! That's the place we stayed and just could not remember the name - it was a long time ago...

It was, and still seems to be, a fairly quiet site, not one of the leisure park style ones. There was a good swimming pool, and the shower block was very well kept.
