Please can anyone recommend any campsites like La Garangeoire in the same area (Vendee). Have done hours of hunting online but would really like recommendation if poss.

I have emailed La Garageiore for availibility but don't hold out much hope as the website was saying 'no' but contact them to check.

Planning on going for 5 nights in August with a caravan as part of a bigger trip.

Tia

We have stayed at la guyonierre which is also in st julien des landes.
Beautiful site and very friendly. Pool area a bit shabbier than garengoire but still good and has toddler pool, indoor pool, lazy river and a slide. Smallish but good playground plus several of the fields have little play areas too. Also have a few animal enclosures with goats etc. Bouncy castle. Lovely bar area, restaurant and take away. Also a spa but not used it no idea what it's like.
We preferred it to la garengoire. Really loved the facilities and setting of la garengoire but was pretty much 100% British when we went in August and so felt a bit like a middle class holiday camp and just felt wrong being in France yet surrounded by Brits! La guyonniere is a good mix of mainly British, Dutch and French.

You could also look at other castels campsites. I'm pretty sure they've got another one near La Rochelle and possibly a couple of others in the region too.

La Guyonnaire people were at a caravan show and their site looks really nice. Le Pin Parasol is nice. We had a look round and you can walk to the lake from the site. Looked clean and well kept. There is also La Foret in St Julian which we looked round a couple of years ago. Lots of pine trees and very shady. Was rather down at heel when we looked but may have improved as I think it is a Yelloh now.
