Anyone been to Norcenni Girasole in Tuscany?

That's it really!

Considering it for next year. We like camping in France but prefer to hire a mobile home, however we like places that don't have booming music in the evening - somewhere we can have the kids in bed by perhaps 10pm. It doesn't have to be silent, just not somewhere full of Euro-trashy music and people jumping in and out of foam dancing to the Macarana (sp).

What do you reckon to this place?

Also, I can't get a handle on the actual layout or how hilly it is. Obviously it will be hot, so we don't want to be heaving ourselves up to the pool in crampons. Are there several pools?

Hi, we've not been to this site but did visit Barco Reale in Tuscany this year which we loved & I did also look at Norcenni Girasole. Reasons for choosing Barco Reale were - smaller, prettier site, less holiday park more campsite & fantastic views. We booked a mobile home direct with the site as could then select a pitch with a view and also much cheaper than eurocamp etc. It depends what you are after really, we prefer the smaller scale of things - they did have entertainment each night which went on til around 10.30pm - reasonably low key, no foam parties, mostly pop quiz / kids show / "comedy" followed by 4-5 trashy pop songs so may not be your cup of tea.
Site was quite hilly but we were close to the pool (3 pools but all in 1 area no huge slides etc (& also close to entertainment area - probably at other side of site wouldn't have heard it anyway).

Not a huge number of other English there - more Dutch / German / French but again depend what you're looking for. Our kids made friends with some other English kids and DD joined in the multilingual kids show.
Good for getting to both Florence & Pisa too!

I've been. Its a massive site with two pool complexes, one at the bottom of the site which seemed to attract slightly older children and then a pool complex at the top of the site which had more families with younger children (say up to age ten). The pools at the top were much nicer in my opinion but up a steep hill. Depending on where you're staying on the site would depend on how much of a walk it is. It is very hilly. There are discos etc. going on but because the site is so huge we were in a very quiet spot (Eurocamp). We had a great time. Would I go again? Probably not as it was incredibly busy (august), the pools were rammed and after trying different styles of campsites we prefer the smaller/ less facilities. Also there is nowhere to go out of the site within striking distance. We did go to Florence which was about 40 mins by train.

I'm going to rule out this site until perhaps the children are older, but I'll have a look at the other one you mentioned as it sounds more our sort of place.
