Major Panic Campingstove gas????

Hi, Im not very good at spontaneity but have just booked a couple of nights camping this weekend.
I haven`t been camping in about 4 years due to life getting in the way. We were bought a campingaz stove and this will be the first time ive ever used it, however, we have no regulator or gas canister and i am freaking out!
I know that I can get the empty canister and regulator at Halfords - but where do you get them refilled? Google is not helping. I live in East Yorks.

Please help me!!

Can you link us your stove and then we can tell you what gas you need.

It is this one, but I don't have a regulator yet.
Thank you.

I have never known anywhere that sells empty cylinders. Usually you pay out a fair whack for a full one (like the link I sent you from Cotswold outdoors) and then when it runs out you go to any major camping store or outdoorsy place and they will exchange your empty one for a full one, and all you lay for then is the gas.

Have you got a Go Outdoors anywhere near you?

Or a big campsite? Often they will sell cylinders.

Slubberdegullion · 23/07/2014 18:08

here is a dude showing how to attach the hose to the stove, and the regulator

Emmylou717 · 23/07/2014 18:10

I found this at Halfords www.halfords.com/camping-car-seats/camping-caravanning/cooking-dining-equipment/campingaz-907-empty-cylinder.

Which is the same one you posted so that's good. thank you. But where refills/swaps them over? we dont really have any big camping shops here

The campsite, if they don't already have them, should know where you can exchange an empty for a full.

I've never in all my years seen an empty canister for sale!

Be prepared for your lovely shiny new one to be replaced by a dinged scratched one, albeit full of gas.

Are you anywhere near Hull Emmylou717?

There's a big camping store on Hessle Rd (winfields). Not sure if they stock actual cylinders but they will do hoses and regulators and will prob more than likely point you to somewhere that does stock the cylinders.

Look in yellow pages under gas suppliers. I get ours at our local DIY / builders merchants, not a camping supplier at all.

Roughly, where do you live, and what area will you be camping in?

I pass 2 places that do cylinders on my way form London to the E Susses sites we tend to frequent, for example.

Blu · 23/07/2014 22:04

Oh, sorry, you said E Yorks, for where you live.

Emmylou717 · 24/07/2014 09:36

Thank you ladies.

I am near hull and will pop to Winfields later today (it`s where we got our tent from) :) , and hopefully they can point me in the right direction.

I am now the owner of a full 907 and regulator that I got for £56 which seemed like a good price! The place is on Hessle road called west hull gas supplies.

Thank you for your help.
