Claire - can I ask you about the bug door - do you just have one? I was always a bit confused about ours. Does the standard Albatros not have a bug door at all. We paid for one and it came sewed in on the left hand side as you look at the tent but I was never sure if that was right. I suppose that because it was sewed in I presumed that came as standard and then thought I had paid for a second side bug door. Thanks.

My mate Pé at Vrijbuiter De Waard Heerde (we have a close personal friendship now based on the strength of two telephone calls) tells me the bug screen comes already attached to the door.

Was a bit confused by a post on the English speaking part of the De Waard forum (a whole forum!) saying it could be acquired separately.

Right, so did you pay extra for the bug screen? We did, which is why I am confused. I feel like they charged us for it in error.

We dealt with Pe too, well my husband did at length (they forgot to send the vario poles in the original shipment!). He is still dealing with him - the zips on our windshield didn't match those on the tent and we are still waiting for their repair dept to alter them.

Really nice guy - good job really - we have been vvv patient!

I don't think we paid for the bug door but then I was in the proper store bit giving my mind a treat when hubby was paying ( i normally wander off when large purchases are being got!!). He's away at the moment so can't check but our door came fitted with bug screen... but we did sort of pre-order before the trip so we knew it would be in stock!!

Thanks, we will ask the bug door question again.

We absolutely love the tent but have found the customer service a bit 'relaxed' despite the guy being lovely to deal with - nearly two months to alter the windshield zips and counting.

We didn't want replacements as their canvas colour has changed so they are altering the originals. They must have changed something this year that meant that it didn't all zip together - all purchased at the same time too.

So, if you see a tent with a missing windshield say hello!
