Challange? Help a novice make a shopping list from scratch.

Hi guys, have decided to try our hand at camping this summer. I have not been since primary school! But have very fond memories. I think the kids would love it.

So I have 4 kids. 9, 8, 5 and 3. Me and DH.

We have absolutely nothing camping related and our budget for everything is £500.

I see millets have a spend over 200 get an extra 20% off, but I really don't know what we need and what we might be tempted to buy but wont need.

I'd like us all in one tent as well.

Any advise would be great, I've tried reading threads but the jargon... I have no idea whats being said! Lol.

Unless your sister's going to chip in for the cost of the tent, you're really going to be up against it spending £400 out of your £500 budget on a tent. You're going to need sleeping mats and sleeping bags for six people plus something to cook on (unless you're going to eat out all the time or stick to sites that allow campfires, which is an option), and that's assuming that you already have pans, utensils, plates and bowls, etc. that are suitable for camping.

Might it be worthwhile putting a post on your FB page asking if any friends have a large tent u could borrow for a night (perhaps offer bottle or 3 of wine)? If you are on FB that is! You might be surprised! Loads of my FB friends go camping.

It's a good price, so long as it is genuinely in good condition.

I only have my family on facebook (about 25 people) non have been camping in their lives!

Have emailed them about the tent, to confirm its condition.
