Someone has re pegged my awning.

Dunno who. It probably was shitly pegged, not helped by the fact I'm on a hard standing pitch and only had 5 rock pegs.

I now have about 15 rock pegs but no idea who the other 10 belong to.

I'm worried it properly blew away while I was out for the day. I'm going to have to go and ask the site warden tomorrow who the pegs belong to aren't I? He's already sent a caravan engineer round to see me to fix a leak I had.

I've done that before, more than once. If the wind really got up it is just a neighbourly thing to do.

I have a squillion pegs, I wouldn't want them back, however if the re-pegger does, they will probably introduce themselves and ask.

I once re-pegged a canopy and all the guy ropes of someone's tent when it was stupidly windy, they had pegs popping all over the place, I had secretly wanted to do it ever since they pitched

I bet someone had been itching to do it since I arrived. Its a new awning. I see now how its meant to be pegged out.

I am so anal about pegging (gosh that could be misconstrued)

Nearly every year, somewhere among the photos there is a picture celebrating the uniformity of my guys I am so so sad

Aww that's either lovely in a kind, neighbourly sort of way or really annoying in a how dare they impose their pegging choices on me sort of way. Repost in AIBU and you'll probably get both answers!!!

My Scoutmaster DH is very strict about pegs and guy ropes. I'm only allowed to do it under careful supervision!

I'm glad they've done it. It was lifting off the ground all last night.

However with the seam being in the caravan rail one side and the two main guys looking good the other side I wasn't too bothered about what was happening in the middle. I thought it would stay put even if it was dancing about.

But either it went big style this morning or someone was worried it was going to.

Dh would be disgusted with me.

Tbf, I have never been brave enough to own up to the repegging in case it didn't go down well....

Dp isn't allowed anywhere near tent pitching, he makes the tea and sorts out the furniture if the ground is very hard, I bow to his stronger biceps and let him bang in the wind break

Rock pegs aren't cheap. I hope no one is chuntering about their pegs.

I suspect it may be the warden. I think he already thinks I'm a bit hopeless.

He didnt tell me about the engineer or the leak. I was snoozing and next thing there was a caravan engineer here saying he'd been told I had a leak. I think he must have come to sort someone else's van and the warden sent him to me as well!

Millimat. Not only have I put an awning up on my own I am a total solo caravanner. Until a couple of months ago I'd never towed a caravan or being in one since a kid.

I'm sorting out all the teething problems, towed it down some horrible, narrow, steep roads. I can reverse it into a small space and everything!

Viva can I have lessons?!
We have a folding camper and I haven't tried towing it yet! (BTW I'd be thrilled if someone put the awning up for me. Maybe next time I will do a truly shite job and wait to see who comes to do it properly! !)

Wolfie, I went on a day towing course with the camping and caravan club. Gave me loads of confidence towing. I'd recommend it.

The bad thing is, I was going to take the awning down this afternoon. But I didnt dare as I thought it would be a bit rude after someone's gone to all that trouble.

You should give towing a go, its easier than I thought.

I've taken the awning down. No one is admitting to owning the pegs. Even the warden doesn't know anything about it.
