Last minute camping trip - Northern France recommendations?

Didn't think we'd go away this summer but am desperate thinking we might do something last minute.

Am now thinking of a week camping, the last week of August. We are opp-north so even Dover is a schlop, so thinking say a max of 2 or 3 hours from Calais. Can anyone recommend anywhere? Will be taking our own tent God help me.

Have 9yr old & 5yr old - they'll want a pool (ideally with slides etc), little play park if possible, but not overly busy. Not asking much am I?

Haven't camped in France in school holidays before - is it massively busy?

Any recommendations gratefully received Thanks

We went here last year (only an hour or so from Calais) and would recommend it. www.chateau-drancourt.fr/en

Camping La Vallee in Houlgate. Very lovely and clean, family run, great facilities and beach within walking distance. Well-priced too. They have a website.

Check out the Kawan site at Lac d'Orient outside Troyes. It's maybe 3 hours from Calais. We stayed there last year for a week before heading off around France and loved it. A really nice site. for what it's worth, we drive from mid Scotland and go through the tunnel about lunchtime, then stay in the Castels site in Guines (about 10 mins from the tunnel) then head off further the next day. The site at Guines is fab for stop overs.
