Cabanon Pyramide. - Can you tie up the base like a bell tent, for a draught?

I've been offered one of these tents for the summer - But need to know, how hot they are? they don't look as if they have any vents, just a big doorway.
I know they're canvas, and much better than polyester, but I do feel the heat, so have any of you owners pinned up the sides for ventilation, or any other tips please?
Lovely tent though!

Hi freidakahlo!

I have a 5m bell tent and a Cabanon Pyramide 4 (the precursor to the Guadeloupe). I don't find the Pyramid hot, and myself and 2 DS really don't do hot.

Which one are you being offered and how many of you are going to sleep in it?

Ours is a 4-berth but is fine for 1 adult and 2 kids, would be a bit snug for DH to join us side-by-side, although I'm sure there are plenty of families of 4 who use them quite happily (we just like a bit of space when asleep - the boys always seem to sleep diagonally!).

The main body of the tent doesn't have a sewn-in groundsheet so there is plenty of ventilation (the sleeping pod does have a SIG).

You can role the front right back against the sides so that will give you loads of air flow and the door also rolls down from the top and they have lovingly incorporated a mesh screen that clips to the poles either side (think you can see this in my photo).

I'd advise having a tarp to go on the front to cook under or a separate kitchen tent if you have one.

I do love my Pyramid, it's 20 years old and has never been waterproofed but doesn't leak at all and is lovely and light.

Thanks so much for that reply, Salome, really helpful, and the lovely photos!
I think it`'s a 4 man tent I'm offered,so looks plenty roomy enough for me and DH.
Looking forward to it now - yours looks so nice!
