Glasgow commonwealth games - where to camp?

Can anyone recommend a lovely place to camp where we can access Glasgow fairly easily? Preferably south of Glasgow and not more than an hour's drive away?

Countryside or seaside fine. We have absolutely no idea where to stay so any suggestions would be great. Not bothered about facilities other than a clean loo and showers.

There is a Camping Club site at Moffat, probable less than an hour away and there is a direct bus if you want to use it.
