we are going to break up our return journey by staying somewhere for 3/4 nights on the way back. I am currently wondering about somewhere near cabourg/deauville as i know the area a bit, but does anyone have any better suggestions or campsites they recommend?

Thank you in advance!

We normally stop at Ferme du Prunay near Blois on way back up. Still a good 5 hours from there to Calais though. We sort of excuse it as a stop as we love it so much but don't want to stay in the area for longer than a few days at a time.
Stayed at the Castels one near Le Mans once (and once only) . It was really noisy and the loos were the filthiest I've seen in France (including motorway ones) so wouldn't recommend that one!

That was unfair on the site...the dirt in the loos was caused by other people not using the floor wipers after showers and not wiping down the sinks after use etc!! Still wouldn't go back as I guess the people who love it are the people who don't clean up after themselves!!

Camping de la Vallee in Houlgate is wonderful and not far from Deauville.

thanks both. the houlgate one is worth exploration.

5 hours to Calais is too far but thanks anyway!
