Camping with a 16 week old - any advice?

Going camping next week, will be ds2's first expedition. He still feeds at least once in the night (bf). Anyone got any advice on what to take for him, and how to manage the night feeds without disturbing ds1 and the entire campsite?! Cheers.

Plenty of layers to keep him warm at night (including socks for feet and hands).

Bfing is probably 'easier' than formula for a relatively 'quiet' night feed as it is ready to go without needing mixing or warming while the baby squawks in impatience.

A mat (waterproof on at least one side - for damp grass) to sit/play on. Highchair? We take ours and it is really useful for those times when you can't quite keep your eyes on everything all at once (like when you are putting yp/taking down a tent).

Toys, books etc obviously.

What will he be sleeping in/on?

We'll take the travel cot, and he's in a grobag, though might layer him up a bit more than normal. Should be fairly warm (we're in Australia) but still cool at night. I tried forgoing the nighttime nappy change last night to see if I really needed to - ended up scrabbling around looking for the spare grobag! So nappy changes it is. We are going with my parents too, so I figure even if I have rough nights, the days should be fairly relaxed. Thanks for your advice.

Ah your taking the travel cot! whilst still feeding dd2 I've camped with her just on the inflatable next to me, as it saves the whole tent and surrounding area waking up when she does! (cheeky baby slept with her arm over my boob last week, I had to keep waking up and shifting her back to her own inflatable, and she still kept rolling back!)
Agree with a good mat, or two if you have a roller yet?, do you have a whoozit travel gym, they're great for younger baby entertainment and pack down to nothing.
Bar that just usual changing equipment and toys, they're so portable at this age its great gets a lot harder when you hit weaning age.....
