Just a measly 13 for us,but in our defence we only started camping this year. BUT we have so far pencilled in 21 days next year

LucyCat · 29/08/2006 16:02

No, just 25 for us this year - we were going to go away this week but the forecast for N Wales was shocking - then again it's glorious sunshine at the moment in Abersoch so perhaps we should have gone after all

Henni - where are you going next year?

sugarfree · 29/08/2006 16:04

erm 3.
But I'm planning another 2 on the 8th/9th September so,that makes me hardcore no?

PandaG · 29/08/2006 16:06

11 for us so far, and maybe a couple more at the end of this week if the weather is ok

AnnaG · 29/08/2006 16:08

We managed 15 this summer, with another 2 planned for this coming weekend. Also our first time camping and only weekends away.

actually mb, we were more under nylon stuff than canvas - i did see a very swish Cabanon canvas tent while we were in Dorset, looked bloody heavy to put in the car boot

Lots of first year campers here - did it live up to expectations?

Quadrophenia · 29/08/2006 16:11

21 for us bet i reckon with four kids six and under that is very brave of me, there fore i should get the award for being the most hardcore camper!!

PandaG · 29/08/2006 16:22

To answer you Lucy - camping is brill - I hadn't camped since I was a ranger guide, camping with family and friends is just fantastic. Well worth the expense of buying a tent, and the hours on here and www researching tents etc. Had a fab time, so relaxing, children so happy!

LucyCat · 29/08/2006 16:35

ahhh that's great PandaG - I think a lot of us got our love of the outdoors from Guiding and you also find the campers who have the most respect for other campers have a family /guiding / scouting background.

Blandmum · 29/08/2006 18:00

yes, I am under synthetic not canvas lucy. I also saw the most wonderful cabanon this one while in France. Massive when packed down though, and I don't think we could manage it in the back of the Mondao without a trailer!

LucyCat · 29/08/2006 18:21

yep you win so far!

We saw the Guadeloupe G604, it looked like something i would have camped in with the Guides circa 1980!

Scoobydooooo · 29/08/2006 18:22

Yes we did but found a few things we would change for next yr, one is our tent & the other is we would have electric hook up apart from that it was fab & an adventure we will be going next yr is well & also doing weekends away next summer, missed it all this yr.

LucyCat · 29/08/2006 18:25

what is wrong with your tent?

now is a really good time to buy one as it's the end of the season (apparantely!)

HenniPenni · 29/08/2006 19:01

Lucycat, so far we have decided: trip one, summer half term- don't know where yet, trip two, first 10days of six week hols in the IOW and trip three, August bank holiday at a fab site that we've just come back fron near Great Yarmouth-can't wait!!Also will try to get other W'ends in if poss.

Mercy · 29/08/2006 19:12

28 days - WOW! I am impressed.

We have managed 5!! I think the children could have done with a few more days but the weather was against us - they are only 2.5 and 5, and there is a limit at that age I think. Hopefully we can fit in a couple of weekends in September and October when the weather is bound to be warm and sunny.

Blandmum · 29/08/2006 19:15

6 days at Whitsun, 6 at the start of the summer holidays, 13 in France and 3 over the bank holidays [smug emoticon needed]
