Getting much colder on Friday - widespread frosts Friday night Shock

We're getting the tent out for the first time for 3 nights next weekend. Think I'll give the suncream a miss and pack the skiing gear instead!

Windy up there is it, hillbilly?

hillbilly · 04/05/2014 23:14

Snow - not at all in fact fairly clement given the actual temperature. Sitting by the fire enjoying the stars for the last night.

Quenelle yes I remember you :-)

snowmummy · 05/05/2014 08:18

That's good. Love it there. We go often.

Just got back. Had the best time EVER. Sunny, warm, 20 degrees. Fab.
So, they were erring on the side of caution then .......
Weathermen? Not a clue.....

Its been beautiful here.
Guests have been pleasantly surprised
Cooked them all up some pizza from our clay oven, and next door had an hour long firework demonstration by a professional company (think NYE over the Thames quality) which was an added bonus.

We had a lovely weekend.

The nights were chilly but not as bad as the initial forecast that I saw. Our fan heater was great for the chilly mornings. The days were lovely and we've had loads of fun romping through the forest finding geocaches and having tasty pub lunches!

Unfortunately I didn't manage to find fourarms. I'm pretty sure I found her tent, just not when they were there!

We had a great time in Wiltshire too. A group of us went to Britchcombe Farm for the first time and loved it. The kids spent the entire weekend running up and down a huge hill and we adults were able to sit and watch them and have a catch-up together. We all live miles apart now and don't see each other often.

Hi hillbilly Smile We keep meaning to go to Town Farm. So many campsites, so few weekends to visit them all...

hillbilly · 06/05/2014 11:03

Yes Ron I know what you mean! Thinking possibly of Britchcombe for a weekend in summer. Did you find that is was safe with the road right next to it?

We really had a lovely time at Town Farm. The owner, Charles is so hospitable and always buzzing around in his jeep checking everyone is ok.

RonSwansonsLushMoustache · 06/05/2014 16:25

We were at the far side so miles from the road, except when we went to the tea room. The kids had a huge, sloping field to run around in.

Milliways · 06/05/2014 19:28

We have stayed at Britchcombe right opposite the Farmhouse, so near the road, and as we had loads of kids they kept the gate shut for us. You just needed to escort kids across the road and not let them go themselves.

We were supposed to stay at Farmer Gows for a change (close to Britchcombe) last weekend but it was totally waterlogged and not a soul there! We then phone around and found a gem of a site in the Cotswolds that we will definitely be returning too.

Please tell us the name of your newly found gem Milli

Merryweather Farm, but keep it a secret! Grin

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 07/05/2014 20:10
