Looking to buy a second tent to do spontaneous/ on the day/ when the weathers nice overnight camping trips etc... It is just me and 1 or 2 small children.

I have a nice five man tent that I can put up on my own for longer trips- but I want this one ease of overnight trips.

I now have a shortlist of 2:

this one

or

this one

any thoughts on pros/cons of either? All I can think of is Gelert one has more sitting in the rain indoor space but Outwell will have more sleeping space? Don't need too much fanciness, just something that's easy and works.

Anyone seen/ slept in either of them?

I am quite tall so would go for this which has more head room in the living area.

Disadvantage: no sewn in groundsheet on the living area.

I agree, go to look at the Quechua ones in Decathlon. Their guarantees are excellent, and quality and price good IMO. We have a Base Seconds that we have had for 4 years, and it is great. The website and videos are good for a giggle too.

The Base Seconds is a good size for you and two small children, but not sure if it is discontinued.

Ooo yes Quechua looks great!

what about this one?

I was just coming on to say Quechua but I've been beaten to it. We have their large pop up shelter thingy and it's easy to put back down

I think that one would be good, OP.

Have a look on YouTube for the clips of people pitching and folding the tents. I have the slightly older model, like and it is a doddle.

As long as you don't attempt to try it out in your spare room like I did. No, there is not enough space to tip it on it's side as shown.....however big your spare room... Grin

We have this one and I LOVE it. So easy to out up and take down, a complete doodle and has inbuilt lights so no worries if I forget the torches! (And you can pick up batteries at the petrol station or camp shop if needs be) it has a lovely sunroof too, so we can sit and watch the stars in bed one a gorgeous night or sleep roofless on a super hot one!
