At what time of the year do you stop/start going camping?

We have only just started camping, so just wondered when does the camping 'season' start and end?
We have got a wedding next weekend, christening the next, I am on a course the next one and dh is on shift the next 3 weekends so we are then into october so looks like its over this year for us
Want to start looking at sites for next year (some weekends and a main holiday), but how early in the year do you seasoned campers start going away?

We start in May (mid to late usually) and finish early October (dependng on weather obviously). Take lots of warm layers of clothes and be prepared to sleep not just fully but excessively clothed and it's fine!

We tend to camp any time from May to Ocober (most sites are only open at these times anyway)

Like Jessa Jam says, be prepared to wrap up well at night time and perhaps have a bucket handy for weeing in (ahem) as schlepping across a campsite at 3 in the morning is not much fun when it -3 degrees.

Do you have any campsites in mind? I can recommened Hollands Wood in the New Forest if you are heading that way.

We tend to go between end of April to end of September, we have booked a week away in August for next year already.

We have camped at Easter before now but generally it's not to be recommended!! We ended up with me, my dh, ds, dd plus two lurchers all in the bed in the camper! We were wearing almost all our clothes (apart from the dogs obviously ) and had about 6 blankets on top of the duvet. That was inside a van not just a tent too! On the other hand, it was a great adventure and the kids loved it. I just didn't get any sleep at all!!!

We have camped without kids between April and October. October was in Battle tho for the reenactment of the the battle of Hastings so we were all warmly dressed in wool tunics and thick woolen cloaks. Dp wants to do it again this year.....we'll see Not too sure its a good idea with a two year old.

We start at Whisun and tend to finish at August bank holiday

Our last trip this year is the first week in Sept on Anglesey.Last year we went mid Sept and it was a bit cold....and very damp
