18 month old sleeping on foam in caravan? Is this ok?

Is this ok to do?

We've just bought a 20 year old caravan for £500. We are replacing the foam (you can imagine the stains!), but was wondering if it's ok for my 18 month old to sleep it?

Am i just being overly worried about cot death?

Thanks
Nick

Although we didn't worry about it ourselves (times were different), I can see why you'd be concerned now.
Will she be sleeping on the bottom bunk converted from the dinette? Check the width, you may find that it matches the width of an ordinary cot mattress in which case you could just substitute it at bedtime for the cushions. Those bunks are quite narrow, you'll want some form of bed guard.
If you are all co sleeping on the big bed, then you might try a decent mattress topper underneath the sleeping bags.
Remember to get a habitation check on a caravan this age, with special attention to the gas systems, and also a full disinfection of the water system.
