never ever been camping, but want to. what do i need to learn and where?

ds1 has been a few times with cub scouts and he loves it. i know about making sure he has warm clothes and how to make a bed roll ffor his sleeping bag. but nothing else.
it sounds like soo much fun. where can i look to learn something abot it before taking the younger kids with me? on my own of course. dh would probably have a hernia or something.

First thing you need is an enormous car. We're going tomorrow for 4 nights and the car is jam packed!

There a list of camping essentials on the camping subject somewhere. Good sleeping bag is a definite - no scrimping there. No fun being cold!

look at uk campsite website, covers everything you need to know and has a search facility ofr tents / camp sites

Important things are a tent, sleeping stuff, chairs, lamps and a means of cooking. Most of the rest is just luxury LOL!
