We are travelling back from the Jura and looking for somewhere to stop over. Is parc asterix any good? Don't want to do Disney.

Love Parc Asterix! We went a couple of years ago and thought it was really good. You can use Tesco vouchers too. Definitely go.

DS and DP went and loved it. They thought it was better value and better done than the UK theme parks. You can book online in advance and it is cheaper.

It is soooooooooo good! Far better than Disneyland Paris. Great rides, not too many queues, lots of food/drink places that are actually open and pleased to serve you (unlike Disney), free photo ops with the characters wandering around (unlike feckin' Disney), just a nicer, friendlier experience all round.

One tip - if you're in any way larger than a size 10, you may want to avoid La Trace Du Hourra. The way the double seats are, if you're in the front you have your head resting against the crotch of the person behind you and when the bar comes down it is tight. I was a size 16, DH is not small, and we spent most of the ride so squashed we could barely breathe. Oh, and they have the world's slowest carousels.

But it was so much fun, we had a great day :)

Thank you all. I'm working on dp to go there. Any campsite recommendations for nearby please?

Camping Campix is convenient for there and Paris. I haven't stayed there but came across it and bookmarked it for the future.

I found campix, but reviews on ukcampsite weren't great tbh. Wondered if people knew of any others?
