The coast of Tuscany

We are going for 3 weeks, spending a couple of nights in the Italian part of Switzerland then on to Italy.

Can anyone recommend campsites or areas to go to by the sea? Anywhere to avoid?

unfortunately no one seems to have any information!
Dh is convinced the water isn't clean! He was probably there about 20 years ago though and things have improved since then!

Hello, we live the other side of Italy. I've never been but can only say your very near Sardinia which is famous for its beautiful coastline.

I can't recommend any campsites but they are thousands of them. Don't expect it to be cheap though, it isn't. I

If you want Tuscany, Forte dei Marmi (near Lucca) is nice (and quite swish). I can vouch for the nice beaches and the water seemed clean.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check out the website. Sardinia would also be great but its a little bit further for us to go (we live near Zurich). We are now considering Corsica instead.

We are going last week of August, first 2 of September. Do you think it would be necessary to book a place on the campsite at that time?
