Camping in France

We were thinking of taking off next week and camping somewhere in France not too far from the ferry's. We are about 40mins/1 hr from most of the uk ports. I was wondering if anyone knew about special offers/cheap deals on ferry's and also any French campsites in Brittany?

why not try canvas holidays or keycamps/ eurocamp and call direct to assk about last minute offers? first week of school hols...good luck!

We're looking to sort out next years holiday. The plan is to travel round France for 4 weeks during the school summer holidays.

We're going to Brittany next week and the cheapest crossing we could find that wasn't Dover - Calais was the Portsmouth Caen one - about £300 I think. Dover - Calais is so much cheaper but depends how far you want to drive at the other end.

We looked at the sites in the eurocamp/matthews holidays brochures as these tended to be the sort we wanted with pools etc for DS and then found the websites for them and booked through the sites themselves.

Does anyone know of a good campsite that is located in Europe andywhere near an airport. I dont wont to drive in a foreign country. It is for me and my daughter.

we're going first two week in August to Chateau des Ormes in Brittany with a company called Camping Life. Not been before but they were excellent when we booked it on the phone and facillities look pretty good.
