We have decided to take the plunge and try out camping but haven't a clue where to start really and have no camping stuff at all.

Obviously firstly we need a tent. Needs to sleep 5 but would prefer bigger if poss, and would prefer one that you can stand up in too.

Budget is cheap

how cheap is cheap?? Halfords are doing a tent with air bed and extras for £99

SparklyGothKat · 17/07/2006 10:54

look here says it for 4 people but you have littlies so should be big enough

nutcracker · 17/07/2006 10:59

That one looks good Sparkly but I don't really want to buy one and then have to get a bigger one later.

Definatly can't go higher than £100 really.

Like the idea of one that coms with sleping bags, etc though so that £99 is dirt cheap really isn't it.

Hmmmmm am all of a dither now LOL.

For £100 I would personally look at one in Argos (we had a pro action, it was fine honestly) and then upgrade to a 'name' when you can afford it. One or two in that list were under £100 I think, but it's the wrong time of year to get a really cheap deal.

We took the cheap now improve later and it was fine, we sold the original for only £10 less than we paid for it by seeling in peak tent buying season so were more than happy

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 17/07/2006 11:05

this is £109 in the sale, has to be collected from shop as out stock on home delivery. There are others in the range I would go for too, under £100 if that helps.

Yeah think you might be right Peachy.

Am watching a couple of the ones that you linked to and am off to check out Argos too.

Your other option- maybe how I would play it- go for {http://www.outdoorworld.org.uk/acatalog/copy_of_copy_of_copy_of_Wynnster_Shrike_6.html\ this} which is a really good name, then get a cheapy disposable gazebo day tent type thing from Wilkinsons for living space. Et voila!

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 17/07/2006 11:08
