Value Tesco's doormat - 97p, keeps sooo much grass etc out of the tent and can be chucked away at the end.

List looks damn fine - how much more room have you got in the car?

We always take a tray to prepare sandwiches/chop food on.

If you've got airbeds, then battery/electric airbed pump!

Waswondering, we've got a 5 dr hatchback and the car is tacked out jsut for the weekend, even the footwells are packed full of stuff.

crunchie · 14/07/2006 22:02

We are taking a roof box this year Last year we went and had everything pretty much bar the bikes and the fridge in the back of a Picasso

Debbiethemum · 15/07/2006 07:50

Yes my list definately requires a trailer - it wouldn't be as bad except we are meeting up with family (who don't hve any camping stuff) while we are on holiday

I take air freshener, coz those tents get a bit musty if its damp (dettol spray actually coz I have a sad thing about the smell of dettol )

crayons, paper, pen for suduko (DH- has to be his alone ), camp site brochure to quibble discrepancies, TWO corkscrews as we always lose one, cloth to wipe down ground sheets each day

Tip: even in wet weather put the kids in shorts; not only do they launder easily in a sink, they don't drag throughh the mud at the bottom. It's always warm enough in this season anyhow (usually- touch wood)

Surfermum · 17/07/2006 21:50

We take one of those small plastic greenhouses with shelves in to put all our clothes on. And those stacking crates are really handy for storing stuff.
