What camping gear should I put on Christmas list?

We are rediscovering camping having only done wild/low maintenance camping pre-kids.

Have asked for a family tent.
We have chairs, mattresses, sleeping bags.
Stove & kitchen gear.

What else? A table would be nice but our car is small! Lights?

Am watching with interest as we only rediscovered camping last summer (only did a few 1 / 2 night stays) as we now have DD aged 2.

Hubby is getting a new coolbox, and DD is getting a proper sleeping bag in her stocking from Santa I bought her a mountain warehouse 1/2 season one for £14.99. We had brought her a duvet last year.

Not sure what I need though!

Our camping gear grows each year. We now have 2 tents for short and long stays!

How about a rubber mallet, lights, coolbox/electric coolbox, EHU lead (if you'll be using electric), camping kettle, peg extractor, decent torch etc?

Nice thermal mugs, lanterns, head torch, fleece blankets. This year we got a couple of those little tables on a stick so your tea doesn't get knocked over, which were fab

The things that have made the most difference to our camping experience are electric hook up, electric light, fan heater, electric cool box and proper porta loo!

these lights you can hook them from a pole or tree, use them for reading lights to save using a battery-heavy lantern, stand them on the table etc etc.

A campfire grill here for cooking directly over your campfire. You can adjust the height over the flame, swing the grill round off the heat - they are fab. Our Rebel grill is fine for 4 people.

A Pie iron for making toasties and other things over the campfire.

Google 'grandpas toasting fork' for kids stocking fillers.

And 'fire steel'.

This is if you are of the sort of campfire-semi-wild camping preference rather than 'EHU and take the toaster' style.
