We're hoping to go somewhere in South Wales, preferably very near the coast. Not too fussy about facilities but do have a dog.

Anyone know some good ones?

Ooooo, ooooo, yes, I do!

We went to Oxwich Cmping Park in the Gower last weekend. Lovely campsite, had a swimming pool and obviously showers etc but no shop onsite. There was a good shop near the beach (not far at the end of the road), a pub/hotel overlooking the bay which has a bouncey castle for the kids and that is it for miles and miles. really lovely beach 10 minutes walk away.

Have jsut seen it says no pets but I am sure we saw some dogs there (???), apparantly Three Cliffs is in a really lovely location and has won awards for being fantastic:

The weekend before last we went to Acorn Campsite in Llantwit Majors and that was also a lovely park. It had a play park and a shop onsite, had an interesting beach nearby (walking distance) that was all rockpools but was not far fron Sandy Bay and Trecco Bay which are lovely beaches. There was a really nice pub that did gorgeous food in the village too.

Thanks girls.

Will look those ones up. WCL, that sounds fab except the no pets bit! Will give them a call to find out.
Any other suggestions still very welcome!

SS, I have always said I will retire in Dorset as I love it there but changed my mind when we went to Llantwit, it is a really lovely spot and we met some lovely locals who were really friendly and kind.

We used to go to a site at Port Eynon (the Gower) which is right next to the sea. The site is called Carreglwd and is at www.carreglwyd.com Not at all commercialised-no clubhouse etc-but clean facilities and location could not be better in terms of access to the beach.

I've only just seen this thread. We love going to Pitton Cross in the Gower. It's quite spacious, and if you ask for the family friendly or dog friendly fields, you end up at the edge of the site and it's beautiful - lovely views.

Hope this helps.
