Where can we go that's not too far?

We've been camping a few times and loved it! We live in the Merseyside area and are thinking of going away this weekend (if the weather stays gorgeous). Can anyone recommend a lovely campsite (with electric hook-up) please, that's about not more than a two hour drive away? Thanks for your help!

How about The Plassey near Wrexham, it's supposed to be very civilised!

BROWNY · 29/06/2006 17:27

Thanks Auntyquated and Lucycamcat, do you know their website address by any chance - and do you think it might be too civilised for my four children?

The Plassey and no, marthamoo went there last year so I'm sure it's not too civilised although she does have a Montana now!!

LucyCampCat · 29/06/2006 17:30

Hadn't even noticed! I'll be Lucycat again in the autumn!

BROWNY · 29/06/2006 17:38

Thanks LCC, the lakes looks amazing - have you been there or to Wrexham?

Zippitippitoes - have you been to the site you're recommending? Is it as good as it looks?

I have been to both the plassey and have just returned this weekend from Park Foot Caravan and Camping Site in Ullswater both of these two come highly recommended and we had 3 children in tow!

Janbo25, I've booked to go to Park Foot Caravan Park this coming Friday and Saturday - it sounds fantastic and I can't wait to go! I enquired with the Quiet Site but they were fully booked, but will definately try there too soon! I'll report back

Janbo25, well the weather was rubbish - torrential rain and gale force winds, but Park Foot was lovely! I have to admit that because I was the first one up and showered (everyone else was asleep), I took myself and my ds1 to the restaurant for a cooked breakfast - what a treat... someone else cooking my breakfast. Then I went to the marvellous mini-market and bought fresh sausages and warm bread and made breakfast for everyone back at the tent!

We will definately go back there again, as the scenery was beautiful!
