Best time to buy a new tent?

Just that really.. Looking to buy a new tent, no plans to use it until next year May/June earliest really, and I was wondering if camping retail type places have sales at any point in the year? (Do they go down in price out of season?)

Our local camping shop has a sale at the moment all last remaining this seasons stock reduced.
We just got an 8 berth tent, footprint, carpet, 2 shoe locker thingys that zip into the porch area for £599.
The rrp of tent only was £799 so was a pretty good package.

My dc loved going in and out of all the tents and laying down in the sleeping pods!

I'm thinking of replacing our family one as we've just been to the Lakes in it and it leaked a bit. Does anyone know a good 6 berth that's leak proof?
