I am crying because my beloved old (read verrrrrrrrrrry old) folding camper has gone. With the exception of clothes there was no packing as it all stayed in the trailer. I really want another. But I also want a new car so a tent it will be.

FillyjonktheFluffy · 15/06/2006 19:37

omg xena i am so sorry. I thought I had troubles but....

take your time there.

When I was a kid we had a touring caravan and it was soooo easy to do packing. Most of the stuff lived there permanently so all we had to do was wander out with an armful of clothes and some food. Those were the days.

Oh well, even if we could afford a caravan and had somewhere to keep it I wouldn't fancy towing it so we're stuck with the tent. Which actually I wouldn't mind if it weren't for the packing....

I'm with Pixel, after a horrendous packing experience last year camping we bought a touring caravan so all we need to take is clothes and the basic foods. Can buy everything else as we need it. For me camping is supposed to be simple, fling a tent in the back of the car, pack a six pack of beer and a loaf, make sure sleeping bag is dry and off you go. When the car was packed to the gunnels last year with all DH's camping gadgetry (cross emoticon) I'd had enough - oh and yes it was me who had to pack coz despite being a bloke and supposed to have a spatial awareness thing in his brain, he can't pack for toffee!!!
