Just that really. We are thinking about going camping in France in September and wondered if we'll need to book a site in advance? We are thinking Brittany, anyone got any site recommendations? We've got one DS aged 2.

www.campingfrance.com is a good website to look for campsites. Dont forget to check when sites stay open til as many start shutting down during September.

We have stayed at at this site a couple of times: www.lesmenhirs.com/ its big advantage is that it is within walking distance of the town of Carnac which is a lovely seaside town.

I have just got back from france and didn't book any sites - we just turned up and got a pitch. This is july /august so the busy time and we have never had any problems.

I would advise you to get ]]anwebshop.acsi.eu/en/campingcard-acsi.html?aff=1960&label=13624-3AFC12FC-1207-4A59-A8E5-EA3CAD7E8F4FS21223526426&gclid=CLDsxce-97gCFbIPtAoduzoAcg book]]as it will give you a good discount on many many sites in september - the discounts often start on 21 augusts or 1 september and for the three of you are worth having as you can save a lot of money. One site we stayed in (just me and dd) we paid 31 euros for which was fine - but come september it would be 15 euros with the book - so in one night you would get your money back for buying the book.

there are plenty of campsites listed int he book for brittany
