We camped this weekend for the first time with a baby, our dd2. DD1 was 20 months when we first went.
What a fantastic weekend! It even felt relaxing. I think the campsite, whilst still very popular, may have been quieter due to the football being on Saturday.
The campsite was great. We went with another family, so dd1 had other children to run around with. And the baby...? She was so chilled out sitting outdoors with so much activity around her. A single blade of grass would keep her amused for 20 minutes.
The baby woke up both nights around 9pm. First night disorientated - a cuddle put her back to sleep until around 6am. The second night she woke up too cold. An extra blanket put her back to sleep until nearer 7am! Nice.
We've planned 2 more trips for the summer although anticipate them being a little more hard work since the baby will be crawling and dd1 won't have ready-made friends to hand. Still, I can't wait. :)
