Campsites in northern Brittany

We are planning to head to northern Brittany this summer. Two dcs aged 4 and 13 months so we'd like to keep them entertained with a pool and decent play area. We'll be staying in Dieppe and then driving from there so am thinking Erquy is probably about as far west as we can comfortably travel in a day with the kids. Someone suggested a campsite there - camping vieux moulin, which is close to some sandy beaches apparently and looks ok. Can anyone recommend any other campsites that fit the bill?

Oh and I'd also like to be walking distance from a nice town or village so we can sit in a cafe and watch the world go by.

Not a personal recommendation as I've never been, but we looked at this one as a possibility for this summer. Has a pool and nearby beach/village

Camping l'Abri cotier

It gets good reviews on ukcampsite.co.uk.

Sorry, just noticed that one's further west than you were looking...

Thanks justforachange. Funnily enough I'd just been looking at that one and wondering how much further it was! It looks really nice doesn't it?

L'Arbri Cotier is the site I was going to recommend. We stayed there last year and loved it. Facilities are great and within walking distance of a lovely little town with fab bakeries. The local beach is really nice and if you drive to Binnic there is another lovely beach and some really nice restaurants. There are loads of things to do if you don't mind a little bit of driving including a wildlife park and a small theme park. We went at the end of august and found the site quiet but still with a bit of a buzz. The kids loved it and keep asking to go back. I think we will probably return next year.

The drive down from Dieppe wasn't that bad. We drove from Yorkshire to New Haven, got the night ferry to Dieppe and then drove to the site in one day. DCs were just 7 and 3.5 and didnt find it an issue.

Oh yay! Will keep that one on the list for future then Grin

Oh really, 2ofsteds that's great to know thank you! The scenery round there looks amazing. I'm really excited.

Not sure how far from Dieppe, but this place is lovely - on the most gorgeous stretch of coastline.
