Family tent with bedroom(s) I can stand up in?

What's the best family tent where I can fully, properly stand up throughout, including in the bedroom(s)? Neither me nor DP are tall (not sure how tall he is - maybe 5'7"?) but most modern tents we've looked at seem to have those pod like side bedrooms which have a very low ceiling

My Dad has had a Gelert Utah 4+4 for years which was awesome but it's discontinued (and I suspect was probably £££!)

Must haves:

Space for a double air bed (I know, I know, but my other half refuses to go camping without it)
At least one bedroom
Space to sit/move around inside the tent
Sleeps 4+

Nice to haves:

Two bedrooms
Awning/porch area
Roll up sides
Sleeps 6+

Things I don't care about:

Looks!
Metal poles vs bendy thingummys
Weight

Price range is I guess

If you want roll up sides and room to stand then a Bell tent with an inner bedroom tent is the answer, but that's out of your price range unless you can get a 2nd hand jobby.

My wet weather tent is a Coleman Instant and it meets all of your must haves - If you use the space divider it has 2 bedrooms or one stonking huge one. I think you can buy a porch separately or use the doorway as an awning in good weather (see pic below). Goes up/down very quickly and easily (my main criteria for a tent!)

I'm eyeing up one of the Vango Icarus range. (Not sure which one, and DP wants a Bell Tent!) Lots of good review on ukcampsite, and I think mumsnetters.

The 500 and 600 have two bedrooms which a dividable curtain that you can remove. So I'm guessing you can squeeze a double airbed in them? I'm sure you can stand up in it, from what I've read on the reviews. It had a small porch but you can get an awning as an optional extra.

It's classed as a weekend tent, but I've read reviews where people have taking them to France for a fortnight etc. You can get an XL version which has extra living space exclusively from the outdoor megastore.

I am selling thisif you are interested. Used 3 times and includes carpet.

Living area is massive and really good head height.

We used to have a khyam Montreal which ticks all your boxes apart from the roll up sides.a few on eBay can't fault the tent for the price .

We have a Vango Icarus 500 - we camped for 7 nights in the Lake District and was fine. There is room for a double mattress (we had 2 blow ups and 2 stretchers), there is a screen to make it into 2 bedrooms and a biggish central area. We were also able to get a 4 seater fold-up picnic table inside.

You an also get a porch for the tent (to give it more room), but on preliminary look, they aren't that easy to get hold of and need to adapt another range of Vango.

The other issue is that the tent doesn't come with verandah poles and when raining, the shape of the tent makes it impossible to stay dry when entering/leaving the tent.

we have this from decathlon you can also get it with 3 'bedrooms'.
sturdy, easy to pitch and higher than most pop-up tents.
I would rethink the airbed, though, it can get quite cold on one.

Outwell Montana fits the bell. Love ours, although it does need two people to put up.

Vango samara 600 for us, two bedrooms, can be made to three with a curtain loads of room especially with an enclosed canopy...

We've got a Hi Gear Mojave 5. Sleeps 5, although it's just me, DH & DD.
Two bedrooms, spacious 'living' area. Easy to put up. Plenty of accessories (footprint, carpet, porch) available.
The tent's well within your price-range and I think it would be even with all the accessories.

If you can get to a go outdoors store, they have all the tents up (at least the two nearest to us do) so you can get in and see how much space they have.

We got an outwell nevada l like this a couple of years ago. We haven't had a chance to use it too much but the flexibility of the different bedroom pods is great and should see this tent last a long time. It is a big tent but not too big for intimate sites. Good luck and look out for deals - we got ours for 260 if i remember rightly.

Google camping specialists in your area. Lots of places have displays of tents so you can walk around in them. Go Outdoors do this and Wingfields, Hull is brilliant. There are other Wingfields branches I think. In the Hull one they have tents of all sizes. We sometimes go there just for fun, sad as we are.

We have a Kampa Croyde 6 which we love. They are a small company but reviews put them up there with the better quality makes without the price tag.

We have a voyager 10 tent from go outdoors. Its on offer at £199 at the moment and is mahoosive so you'll have plenty space inside

Me and DH can put it up/down together quite quickly now. It is heavy though but I guess most family tents are?

Agree with lager that Kampa are good quality but without the price tag that Vango, Outwell etc command.

I'm hopefully getting a Khyam Ridgidome on Thursday. When I put it up (may be a little while as it needs a new joint ordering) would you like me to measure the bedroom area?

The Halfords £99 for tent, sleeping bags etc is pretty spacious for the money. Can't stand up in the two bedrooms, but DH who is 6'7" can stand up in the living area. I can put it up single handed, too.

Obviously not designed for serious camping, but works for us for the occasional night here and there.

Millets seem to have some good deals on tents at the moment, and an extra 15% off

I have a vango Maritsa 700 which is huge and fab. 2 bedrooms (2 and 5 people) and the 5 person room can be separated into 2 rooms for 2 and 3. Big living area with large doors on both sides and separate porch area attached for kitchen stuff. New it would be out of your budget but I got this second hand for 250 on Ebay last summer.

I don't know any tents that have roll up sides apart from bells but this opens enough that you can get a good breeze through it
