Anybody been to Domaine des Forges?

In the Vendee? We're going for 2 weeks in the summer on a premium pitch, with 2 dds (6 and 1) I'm ridiculously excited!

Just wondering if anybody has been there recently? It's no longer a Castels site, and was wondering if there's any hints or tips I should know about?

No not been, but just wanted to share in your ridiculous excitement! We're going to Brittany for 2 weeks in August and I CANNOT WAIT!!! Our kids break up for the summer today (for 7 weeks this year, how did that happen ), and god knows how we're going to keep them occupied til then. DD1 drew a countdown chart when it was 86 days to go - I think we're down to 30 now

To add to my madness excitement we're doing Camp Bestival first, then straight to Portsmouth for ferry to Cherbourg.

Now packing for this trip is going to be horrendous! (and I've stupidly booked to go away the weekend before too)

I've not been to this site but have been to loads - about 12 over the years in the same area and several which belong to the Castels chain which this used to. All have been very good holidays. We normally go with UK tour operators in mobile home as it often works out just as cheap as taking a touring caravan, we have used Keycamp and Camping and Leisure Direct both were very good, Keycamp was a bit more corporate but you pay for extra for this.

Would really recommend Puy du Fou for a day out in the Vendee and the Safari Africain parc at Port st Pere. I would suggest avoiding St Jean de Monts (town centre) but St Gilles Croix de Vie and Les Sables d'Olonne are really nice.
