How can I glamp up my normal tent?

I've always been a more utilitarian sort of camper, but as the years go by I find myself longing for a bell tent and all associated glampy bits and pieces. Now, an actual bell tent is out of our budget right now, particularly as we have a perfectly functional family tent already (a vango icarus 600 ). So what little things can I do to make my camping experience a bit more glampy and wonderful?

I've already invested in some pop up laundry baskets for better storage, in the hope we can keep the tent looking nicer. We have some new SIMs for everyone, and I prefer taking duvets and pillows to sleep under, so should be comfy at night.

What else can I do? Will I be laughed off the campsite if I put fairy lights around the door? I yearn for some bunting, but I can't see where I would put it.

Thanks.

attheendoftheday Sod what other people think if you want a red spotty tablecloth you have one! Also I when I last went away I saw someone with lovely ball fairy lights around their tent porch and thought it looked fab.

Sainbury's had some nice wicker basket/hamper things and melamine tiffin tins in their summer section. I got a basket last month which I used our plates/cutlery/mug kitchen section.

Colourful cotton rugs or bright fleecy blankets are good for tent living spaces.

I don't know that it does attotd, on proper reflection.

Loving the wicker basket ideas too. We have one with all the stuff which was a wedding present, but I think it would be a bridge too far for packing, sadly.

Your right, Miffy, I should just indulge my poncetastic and possibly slightly dated tastes and sod what anyone else thinks. Thanks for the tip about Sainsburys, I'll check it out.

Wicker basket sounds fantastic, it shall go on my list!

I think I value prettiness over credentials too, MummyPig. I wonder what that says about me as a person?
