Anyone camped at the Wings and Wheels Airshow?

Or similar?

We want to go, but it's a couple of hours away, and I spotted they have a camp site so pointed it out to DP. I've never camped, DS (5) is very keen, and DH was a scout leader in his youth so thinks he knows about camping. GrinHmm

Facilities are toilets and running water. There are no electric pitches left. (We don't need that, says DH Shock) That's it!

DP has a 3 man tent, and the relevant kit (I hope) so we'll just need to buy a sleeping bag, and a few bits for DS.

So what am I to expect? Lots of mud and long queues for the toilets?

I'm thinking of going somewhere nicer, and closer to home for a night, before then as a practice.

Oh darn. I was wanting to camp but NEED electric.
There are a few campsites within about 10 miles if that helps?

Thanks. I've found one that's a mile away (so walking distance, but on country roads) but it only has five pitches, so I'm assuming it's guessing it's fully booked. The glamping camp it shares it's facilities with is fully booked.

Don't really want to travel any further than that. We only live 1.5 hours away. (in normal traffic)

Ok. Bat and Ball at Newpound is good, but it is further.
