Hi all. We're looking to get our first family tent and I'm keen to go somewhere that has lots set up so we can get an idea of size and work out what features we want - very exciting! We're near Kingston-upon-Thames but willing to drive about an hour - anyone know somewhere with a good selection? Thanks!!

There is a big one in South Godstone, I pass it every time we drive to my parents in East Grinstead. It is a short drive off the M25 so fairly convenient. www.skcamping.com/visit-us.html

There's a Go Outdoors in Hayes I think? They usually have a lot.

Thanks for the suggestions - will have a look!

SK Camping have a really great selection pitched, we had great fun wandering around and their selection of fripperies/accessories is great. In the end heart won over head though and we bought from these guys: www.belltent.co.uk/index.php who now open their doors so you can kick the guy ropes but appreciate they're not for everyone!

SK camping in Godstone are very good - very helpful
Camping world in Farnham are also great - will also price match even on internet prices. (they have a playground as well for when kids get bored)
I would have a look at lots of reviews and have at least an idea about type of tent you want e.g dome/tunnel etc also don't forget to factor in the size they are in the bag and how you would transport it. Ours is great but the bag is huge and heavy and I couldn't pitch it on my own

Thank you so much for all the suggestions - will check them out on the Routeplanner. I love the look of the bell tents too but DH not so keen, any ideas where we can go and see one set up to try and win him over?

Well LWM, if you are camping in St Ives Farm next weekend, you are welcome to come and look at our bell tent (will need 2 minutes to tidy up first though Grin)

Bell Tent are in Colliers Wood, SW London, and open Saturdays but check their website and they're always really helpful on the phone. Be warned though, compact and lightweight they around not!
