Recommended campsites in Dorset and Somerset

Can anyone recommend a nice campsite in Dorset and Somerset suitable for DP, 4yr old DS and myself? Preferably looking for it to be within walking distance of a beach. Ideally no minimum night bookings! Many thanks

Depending when you are thinking of going, Eweleaze Farm in Dorset is lovely and has its own beach - only open in August though.

No set dates, just wanting to get recommendations for random weekends and short holidays. Thanks for your suggestion, ill add it to my list

Golden Cap is right next to a pebble beach in Dorset, walking distance from Bridport along the coastal path. Between you and the beach is a pub (The Anchor) and a Fish & Chip van comes on Saturdays.

The tents are at the back of the site, behind the static holiday homes, but with lovely views of the hills. There are a few pitches with sea views at the front (we had one, they are fab) but they are hardstanding so no good if you have a tent. Site facilities are excellent.

There is a sister site at Highlands End, BUT it is on the cliff edge and EXTREMELY windy, so you get a sea view but your tent may get wrecked. Golden Cap site is in a valley so more sheltered.

I've just come back from another lovely weekend at Hook Farm, in Uplyme. We love to go with our DCs (7 and 2) as the site is really friendly, fairly quiet, and there's a really nice walk (I'm guessing about a mile and a half?) down into Lyme Regis where we can sit on the beach and enjoy all the usual seaside treats whilst the kids get blown away! If the kids are up for it we will walk back afterwards, if not there's a very regular bus service.
