We're seasoned campers but this will be our first time at a festival.

Anyone got any top tips for us? Ds14 and ds 9 have never been to a festival and tbh they aren't all that excited :(

Is food expensive? Don't really fancy cooking lots.

Is the camp area crowded? We'll either get there Friday eve or Sat am.

Hello. We are going too and a few other mn ers.
We have a camper and will be alone Friday then dds 2 and 11 coming for the rest if it.
Website helpful but so was the phone line.
It's not glasto so you will be fine.
Not been before but I've heard nothing but good.

I've been past two years but we can't make it this year.
Camping area can get busy ime. If you can arrive Friday I would do so personally, although the queues to get into the camping area can be a pain. But you'll get a better pitch.

Food was fine iirr. We didn't cook at all.

Very safe for children. Your two would be fine to walk about the main festival area without you tbh. Lots of child friendly activities too, more your 9y's age range I guess though.

Wychood (through eyes of children) - DD helped make this after our first visit

Thanks for your replies. We'll def aim for Friday to get there. Is it far to lug tents from the car?

Ds1 is quite a young 14 so hopefully will be fine to wander off with ds2 .

Hoping for decent weather !

I'm sure at wychwood you can drive onto the camping field. So no lugging stuff.

Hulababy: thanks so much for the link

I'm sitting here with the biggest grin after listening to the soundtrack

(The Wurzels doing an ace cover of 'Ruby' - top tune from a top cider-drinking band!!)

You're welcome :) dd and her two friends loved it.

You can drive to the camping area. You then need to drive car back up to car park once unloaded. The getting to pitch is where the queues happen and it can take a while to get round. Mind, I think they're opening up
Earlier this year which may help matters
