fullmoonfiend · 23/05/2006 17:32

well, if you find out the colour clashes with your Cath Kidston tent... or you just can't find the perfect pair of fluffy dice, just let me know and I'll take her off your hands - no charge, just to be helpful... Grin

mykidsmum · 23/05/2006 17:32

hehe its nice that people are Envy everyone in rl thinks we are being irresponsible Grin

OP posts:
cece · 23/05/2006 17:33

What year is it? We have a 1973 bay camper and it's great.

mykidsmum · 23/05/2006 17:35

my dp has finally given in after 7 years of my nagging, dreading it breaking down cause it will be all my fault Grin

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 23/05/2006 17:35

why, for FS? I'm sure it makes a very practical runround town. Think of all the shopping you can fit in. They'll be laughing on the other side of their faces when you volunteer to do the school run and can fit 4million kids in the back and rustle up a nice cuppa en route :)

mykidsmum · 23/05/2006 17:36

Hi cupcakes, its a 1971 bay camper, with the low indicators!

OP posts:
cupcakes · 23/05/2006 17:36

ours did break down once...

but at least you can make a cup of tea whilst you wait for the RAC.

cupcakes · 23/05/2006 17:36

you'll be tax exempt!

Blandmum · 23/05/2006 17:37

You lucky devil! Envy

cece · 23/05/2006 17:37

ours broke down too and it is greta to rustle up a cup of tea or dinner while waiting for help!

mykidsmum · 23/05/2006 17:37

Its mainly my dad, who thinks that he will be the one coming to tow us when it breaks down, my friends just don't get it, thats bar our beetle owning mates!! Everyone thinks we shoulod be investing in a Voyager or Sedona, cannot wait to do a shop!!!
Cupcakes what interior layout, do you have??

OP posts:
mykidsmum · 23/05/2006 17:39

or sit and play cards round the table, yay for tea

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 23/05/2006 17:39

ask your dad for membership of Greenflag/RAC whatever - tell him it's in his own interests!

KBear · 23/05/2006 17:39

lucky you - I crave a campervan!

mykidsmum · 23/05/2006 17:41

Thats the first thing we are going to do is join the AA, last guy that owned her said she has never let him down. My dad thinks they are unsafe old technology and no way should I be putting my kids safety at risk in one Shock

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 23/05/2006 17:45

Ok, old technology but tried and tested. And a campervan is way more visible than , say a Ford Ka....

(I've had years of practise justifying my fantasy purchase Wink

cupcakes · 23/05/2006 17:45

ours is quite unusual. It has 2 bench seats in the back - the middle one turns round to be either front facing or rear (at the table). There is a coolbox/fridge next to the rear bench with a sink and hob above.

Seats 6. Dh and I sleep in the van and we use an awning for the children.

mykidsmum · 23/05/2006 17:45

and dp won't be able to drive as fast, so safer all round Grin
