....and it was brilliant. Great atmosphere, fires allowed, clean facilities. Charles the owner is extremely hospitable and takes the time to show you around the site to pick a pitch. Lots of space and the views are AMAZING! We saw the best sunsets we have ever seen in this country. Would highly recommend! The kids loved the playground (we don't normally choose sites with a playground) and made lots of friends. The site was all quiet by around 10.30pm which was perfect.

Sorry, but this reads like a trip advisor review posted by the owner...

Sorry if that is not the case. Glad you had a good holiday.

Very glad to hear your review hillbilly! I had been eyeing that one up. Was wondering if good views meant it could be a bit exposed and blustery?

hillbilly · 06/05/2013 21:36

HamletsSister - you cynic! If you read my posts going back weeks you would know that I'm real Hmm

hz - I would say that it's an excellent site in good weather but not in bad weather. Very exposed and it was windy when we arrived on Saturday. No shelter from the elements at all. But so beautiful and we had the best weather.

Glad you had a good time hillbilly. We'll give it a try when a weekend of good weather is guaranteed.

aah, but Hillbilly is a long time enthusiast (and a helpful, accurate MN reviewer) of many campsites, HamletsSister, as 2 mins spent searching would have revealed. Troll hunting not allowed on MN, you know!

hills - I've added it to my spreadsheet, glad you had a good time. I have to wait until next weekend for our first camp, by which time the weather is deteriorating - BOOOOO!

hz · 07/05/2013 12:22

That is handy to know! Thanks Hillbilly.

HamletsSister · 07/05/2013 13:06

Not troll hunting. Meant to be a joke. It is just dodgy trip advisor reviews nearly always mention the helpful / hospitable owner. Glad you enjoyed it, as I said.

I love Town Farm, great site. And the owner really is that great!

I was there this weekend too and thought it was lovely - even tho it was busy it was still quiet and peaceful. Fab views and although blustery on Friday, it was calm for the rest of the weekend. Charles, the owner, is very entertaining Smile. Hired a fire pit which was great. Would certainly go back. I think I first saw mention of this site here on MN so thanks to however it was who posted about it....maybe it was you Hillbilly Smile

Love Town Farm. Glad you enjoyed it hillbilly. When I saw the forecast, I was gutted we couldn't go! Incidentally, our first trip ever was there, in wet and windy weather. It was wet and windy and I kept checking the awning was still attached to the van throughout the night. Been back loads of times since.
