We are camping for four nights a week tomorrow and the weather at the moment is dreadful. Tonight the wind is blowing a gale, the last few days have been heavy rain.
Let's hope it improves.

It'd better! We are planning to go on bank hol weekend ( daft idea really...traffic argh!) first camping of the year for us...SO looking forward to it...but don't want one of those trips where you end up sleeping in every single item of clothing you own all at once and still being cold!

sparkler1 · 18/05/2006 23:10

Really don't fancy putting up the tent in the p$ss pouring rain

oh gawd, and we have a new tent too, so will be first attempt at getting it up (as it were Wink!) plus you can bet that if it's rainy and even better windy...ds will be crying and not want to sit in camper alone while we wrangle the tent!

sparkler1 · 18/05/2006 23:14

Grin St Agnes in Cornwall...cliff top camp site ( so ideal for catching those big gusts if wind that turn your tent inside out and make whoever is holding onto it do impromptu hang-gliding!!)
sparkler1 · 18/05/2006 23:21

I think that is one of Surfermum's favourite places.
We are going to Burton Bradstock, Dorset

fingers crossed for better weather then...
did you see thread other day suggesting a MN campers sign ( mooncup dangling from car arial etc etc?) then I could see if I can spot surfermum!

Have to go...bed is calling...

I'm going for the first time next weekend.

Am determined to enjoy it, although have to say it sound like it might be a bit....uncomfortable. And maybe...wet...?

peachyClair · 20/05/2006 17:51

Bought expensive wellies for boys and a waterproof for DH today, best way I could think of ensuring sun Grin. guess what- it is gorgeous here now!!

I wouldn't panic yet, the 5 day forecasts are often wrong.

LucyCampCat · 20/05/2006 19:40

the sun has just appeared for the first time today here, don't worry it'll be raining again in 10 minutes Grin

What use is sunshine at 7.40pm! pah

Tortington · 20/05/2006 20:34

you can always stay in the tent - play cards and get stoned.

ahh happy days

peachyClair · 21/05/2006 11:30

LOL- not sure getting stoned an option with the kids!!!!!!! Damn shame, never been stoned.

sparkler1 · 21/05/2006 12:06

DH and I are getting worried now. It's all good and well if the weather dries up now but the ground is going to well soggy on Friday. Sad

LucyCampCat · 21/05/2006 16:07

at least the tent pegs will go in easily!

Blandmum · 21/05/2006 16:10

will be packing the wellies and waterproofs. It is bound to rain in N wales Grin

KBear · 21/05/2006 16:11

don't panic - by Friday it will all blow over and June will be GLORIOUS! Honest.

LucyCampCat · 21/05/2006 16:12

although \link{http://www.abersoch.co.uk/entertainment/cam2.htm\it's lovely and sunny in Abersoch} - at the moment anyway!

Don't forget to pack the suncream too! Grin

Blandmum · 21/05/2006 16:12

really? Or are you just saying that to get my hopes up???

LucyCampCat · 21/05/2006 16:13

then again \link{http://www.abersoch.co.uk/entertainment/cam2.htm\view from the top of Snowdon} ain't so great!

KBear · 21/05/2006 16:16

I am just saying it to get your hopes up! We're off to Scotland on Friday so my hopes need lifting too!!!

Jessajam · 21/05/2006 16:16

oh pleeeease let it not be rainy next weekend.
Determined to get out camping, (having just shelled out sh*tloads for camper to get through MOT...new mantra is 'must get money's worth')
But grrr the stress of getting in and out of a went tent, trying not to touch the sides because A: it causes leaky, drippy damp patches and then B: DH gets all irritated with me for not being able to move about without touching inside of tent (harumph!) And even having the camper isn't that much better in rain as we have to share it with the dogs!!!

Jessajam · 21/05/2006 16:16

WET tent ( d'oh!)

Blandmum · 21/05/2006 16:17

Ohhh rain and midges! LOL

Look on the bright side, if you have gale force winds it blows the mozzies away!
