hi we bought a basic tent a couple of weeks ago..very easy to put up dome tent but it has low head room..probably about 5ft so am looking for suggestions of camping stoves.
Would like one with a grill too as DS is a toast fiend.
Also what else do I need so far have bought..
airbed/readybed for ds..DD is sleeping in her pram
sleeping bags[well getting them tommorow from aldi]
water bottle
cool box
rechargable lantern
we have a torch
oh and the tent..lol

Does your tent have a porch to cook in? If it doesn't you may well find it's worth getting either some kind of canopy to cook under or a day tent, where you can keep all the cooking/dangerous stuff!

Something like \link{http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/scripts/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2eoutdoormegastore%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2fTents_by_brand%2ehtml&WD=day%20tent&SHOP=%20&PREVQUERY=SS%3dday%2btent%26PR%3d%2d1%26TB%3dA%26SHOP%3d%20&PN=Khyam_Family_Tents_30%2ehtml%23a3198#a3198\this?}

Of course, you could always get an ehu and take your toaster! the grills on camp stoves may not do your toast quite to your dh's spcifications! Grin

Lucycat · 03/05/2006 17:24

sorry ds not dh!

Nemo1977 · 03/05/2006 19:16

the tent has 2 bedroom sections and a middle room plus a porch that comes out on poles...dont know if that counts?

How high is the ceiling in the porch? can you do a link to your tent?

How's your dd btw?

Surfermum · 03/05/2006 19:27

A bucket for wees in the middle of the night. Last year I used dd's potty and filled it up first thing in the morning Shock. It was rather precarious carrying it out of the tent.

The other essential is a wine box. You save packing space as you don't need a bottle opener.

Nemo1977 · 03/05/2006 19:53

trying to find the link to our tent!!
Lucycat thanks for asking DD is a lot better. She still occasionally needs inhalers but nowhere as much as she did.

Surfermum the image of you with a potty of pee just made me laugh as I was also going to just take Ds' potty but will now go for a bucket..lol

Bucket with a lid is essential.

As is wine

And glow sticks (the cheapo ones) great fun

And a disposable bbq with marshmallows to toast!

Nemo1977 · 03/05/2006 20:16

we were going to take a disposable bbq. bucket with lid...mmm the nappy pail should do as obviously will be using disposable while away.

A lid for your bucket? Cor, you're posh!

Blandmum · 03/05/2006 20:18

a 'loo' bag, big enough to take the toilet paper, liquid soap and a towel. Much easier to grab the bag than all the bits IYSWIM

Lots of plastic bags for the rubbish.

Blandmum · 03/05/2006 20:19

Darlink, I may drink our of plastic but the pot I piss in has a lid Grin

Aldi have Camping items in tomorrow (4th) including sleeping bags, BBQ's etc. They have a head light for £2.99! (& last week were selling giant marshmallows for toasting!)

Nemo1977 · 03/05/2006 20:29

millways thats where we are going to get our sleeping bags from. They are 9.99 for the mummy type.
