Help me find a campsite - within 2 hours from Northumberland

I want to camp this summer with two young dds, one will be just 2, the other about 3 months. We live in North Northumberland, pretty much on the Scottish border. Ideally on a quiet site that allows dogs and has some nice walks nearby. Long drives can be a bit fraught, so would like somewhere within two hours max.

We've camped on a lot of sites in Northumberland before, both on the coast (at Bamburgh and Craster) and in Kielder Forest. I'd prefer somewhere new for this year, and hopefully not too many midges.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Hadrian's Wall's not too far from us. Are there any campsites you'd recommend?

There are quite a lot now iirc. I havent stayed in any personally but the area around housesteads and vindolanda are really good for exploring the wall.

I used to buy my eggs from a farm near Matfen which had a lovely site. They had a an honesty box and I left my purse on the table with loads of money in it but the farmers wife was lovely and returned it to me when I finally tracked it down.
