Dh and kids asleep and feeling pathetic. The rain is hammering and wind howling. I can't sleep as keep imagining the tent collapsing on us. Very pathetic I know!

What tent have you got?

Remember is sounds and feels way waaaay more dramatic inside than out.

Isn't camping jolly good fun?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 29/08/2012 22:46

It always sounds worse from inside the tent.

Where are you and whatbtent are you in?

I love camping too but am pleased to be home after a very wet weekend,

5m bell tent near Corfe Castle. Thanks for reassurance.
We camp every year but never been this loud before!

Luckily a bell tent only has one pole, odds are it will hit your snoring DH on the way down and you can just snuggle up in the wreckage and get some sleep Grin

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 29/08/2012 22:49

Oh a bell tent - you'll definitely be fine!

Wolfiefan · 29/08/2012 22:49

I was often convinced our tent would take off. Pictured Wizard of Oz style event. Never happened! Hoping the wind dies down soon. Sleep tight.

suedpantsoffem · 29/08/2012 22:50

We've been in some howling gales in our tent and it's never fallen down.

SlubberTarpWrangler · 29/08/2012 22:54

In a bell you'll be fine Smile lovely strong canvas and a great, aeons olds simple design for standing up in syphilitic weather. Hope you get to sleep soon.

Thanks. I hadn't noticed him snoring but he is too. This is night 6, only 3 to go.
