We're off to Red Shoot in New Forest for Thursday to Sunday. Keeping fingers crossed it does stay sunny and dry as per the forecast.

FourArms · 07/08/2012 16:32

We're off to Fowey in Cornwall. Were meant to be going Friday, but have shifted forward to Thursday to make the most of the forecast!

MummyPigsFatTummy · 07/08/2012 16:38

hillbilly - v jealous. Last time we were at Forgewood, in the middle of July, we sloshed about in mud all weekend. Still fab though. Grin

PatriciaHolm · 07/08/2012 17:00

We're off to forgewood too! First time, with relations who have been before. Looking forward to it!!

RedWhiteAndBlu · 07/08/2012 18:07

Have a great time, Hillbilly. Remember not to camp along the drainage channel from the toilet block in the lower field!!

I went to Blackberry Wood (the overspill 'no kids' bit) last w/e - it was brilliant. Sat in my glade with my fire, looking up at the stars, and walking during the day. Fab. Only a couple of small showers, though it rained heavily in the night for about 90 mins.

hillbilly · 08/08/2012 07:41

That's great Patricia! We've been a few times and love it.

Blu I remember your situation well - we usually camp at the bottom of the top field so hopefully it should be dry. I'm pleased to see that it is not fully booked too, so hopefully it won't be chaotic. I still have not been to Blackberry Wood as we had to cancel our June booking although I really hope to go next year.

MrsMc82 · 08/08/2012 23:32

we're off to a wee certified site, Lodge Farm nr Harrogate 10 mins frm home! but only doing sat night and just taking our little 3man tent so it better be dry!!! :)

ThePoshHobbit · 09/08/2012 09:06

Lobb Fields nr Braunton, Devon- just for the weekend. first time we've been there though and am a bit nervous as a few of the reviews ive seen since say it can be a tad strict! (we're not naughty campers but do prefer relaxation to rules) Forecast is rain from Sat 10pm onwards tho- boo!

deste · 09/08/2012 09:44

Thankyou Sharon.

pictish · 09/08/2012 09:48

We're off to Fisherground in Cumbria tomorrow! Cannae wait!

dlady · 09/08/2012 15:49

We're off tomorrow to a certificated site near Pickering, North Yorks. I am just packing should be packing, am mumsnetting . I can't believe the weather is going to be hot and sunny, we never have luck with weather. Best go and pack the factor 35.

pictish · 09/08/2012 16:05

Aaarrghh! I am so excited by the weather!! This will be the first camping trip this year not to be deluged by rain!

I am also in the process of not packing. And making lists. And looking out the camping gear! Wheeee! Grin

ThePoshHobbit · 09/08/2012 16:39

Not packing here too. Pottering really whilst the children are totally naked eating ice cream, enjoying the sunshine.

Wish we were going back to Stoke Barton again nr Bude/Barnstaple- we went a few weekends ago and it was as close to perfection as I think I've ever found. But they were full. Boo!

Have a lovely time everyone.

MummyPigsFatTummy · 09/08/2012 17:11

Really, really jealous now. We are off to Eweleaze next weekend. THis nice weather had better last or there will be trouble .

have a wonderful time everyone Grin

bilblio · 09/08/2012 22:18

We're off to Bakewell Music Festival. First festival for both kids, first time camping with 10m DS. I'm very excited/nervous. DD was 2 before she went camping.

We aren't camping at the festival, but at a normal campsite, (with showers) in Monyash. We're taking bare minimum, no cooking things, the iceytek is staying home, no chairs or table, just tent, clothes, sleeping things, torches and a picnic blanket... and loads of fruit and brioche rolls to keep the children quiet until we find a cafe in the morning.
It's bare minimum partly because we'll be at the festival most of the time, but also because I haven't got a key for the roof box yet so everything has to somehow fit in the car.

Megalosaurus · 09/08/2012 23:09

We are already in France near Paris. We are staying for the weekend though. Does that count? Grin

pictish · 09/08/2012 23:14

Right - so that's the roofbox and boot packed, ready to go. We are super organised this time round...it's a case of up, dressed, breakfast, go!

It's a four(ish) hour drive....we aim to arrive about lunchtime tomorrow.

Weather is looking goooood! Grin

ThePoshHobbit · 13/08/2012 21:39

How were everyone's weekends? Ours was pretty good and whilst it rained it was in the night so we were happy!

hillbilly · 13/08/2012 22:20

Amazing weekend. Had friends join us for the saturday night too. Camped at the bottom of the top field and it was baking hot. Shame about the no wood fires on Friday but we made up for it on Sat with a good one. Kids came back black and we all stank of campfire. Loved it!

Patricia - did you enjoy it?
