There was an Iceytek MN discount???? And I didn't know?

TheNaughtiestGirlInTheSchool · 07/08/2012 12:51

I think it was free delivery, rather than a discount, but can't seem to find anything on the 'Partner Offer' page.

Bet I have missed the boat Sad

It was free delivery, and I'm fairly sure it ended a few weeks ago - sorry Sad
However Julia at Coolboxes UK is very nice. Might be worth phoning her to check. She may be able to reduce the postage a bit.

Call her and tell her you have discovered it / been encouraged to buy through MN and she might re-instate it!

Calling and pleading sounds like a good idea!

Do either of you have one? I am still trying to convince myself that they are worth the money but we need a new cool box, so seems like a good time to invest.

I have one!

They are expensive....but they work. See my post on another Icey tek thread below. You need to be disciplined about pre-chilling it, though, and not leaving the lid open and letting the kids in and out every 5 seconds.

But much better than my old conventional cooler which required fresh ice blocks every morn and night to keep things cool. The Icey tek keeps them Icey!

I have a green 55L one. It is beautiful and enormous Grin

Today is its first outing. We are off camping for 2 weeks and it is full. I pre-cooled it as previous poster with frozen bottles of water, and then filled it last night with frozen and chilled food plus various gel packs etc.

Because I'm sad I have put my fridge thermometer in too, and am trying to resist peaking in to check the temp Smile
But after 24 hours pre-cooling with 3 frozen bottles and some cushions to fill up the space, it was the same temp as my fridge, so that's a good start. May update that later. I'm hoping to have to shop and also re-freeze our ice blocks less frequently - will let you know how I get on.

Thanks for the feedback - I took the plunge and ordered a 56L long box. Glad we have a roof box as it looks huge on line.

It should arrive tomorrow in good time to chill down before our two week camping trip on Saturday.

I am far too excited. I keep having to remind myself that this is a coolbox, not the ipad that I have been after for the last year.

Fridge thermometer is a genius idea Grin
