I'm wondering what to pack for pj's for the little ones, when camping in the Loire Valley next week? Thanks!

We've just got back from the Vendee, a bit further south, it was very warm in the day but because of the clear skies, freezing at night! So I would recommend full length pjs unless you have very warm sleeping bags :)

The last night we were there it rained and because of the cloud cover it was suddenly very warm, so DD just slept in a t-shirt.

We've just come back from Normandy and even littlest one (18m) was only in a short-sleeved, short-legged sleepsuit on most nights, and all sleeping bags were opened up as a cover (rather than a bag). A couple of nights we put them in long-sleeved normal PJs but we were all warm at night, even with clear skies.

Can I just jump on this thread and ask a question to Flubba?

Where did you stay in Normandy. We have booked the main part of our hols now on the Vendee but we have 5 nights at the end which we fancy spending in Normandy - have stayed at couple of different sites in past but just saw your post and thought would asked which campsite and whether you would recommend? thanks

Also to OP - we always take couple of options for sleepwear - especially for the children - as we have had holidays in France where we have been really warm one night and then so cold the next - can't predict - so best to take extra jus in case.

Will PM you :)

It gets very cold in a tent at night in France. When we've gone we've all worn tracksuits at night. also means you're decent if you need to trec to the WCs for a wee in the middle of the night.

Thanks everyone - that's a huge help!

Just got back from the Vendee. Kids were in normal pjs, Gelert pod sleeping bags with a fleece blanket on top for the chillier nights. They were toasty!
