Lidl / Aldi near New Forest campsites ?

Hi, am sure I could search another way but just on this site. We are off to New Forest at weekend camping - on limited budget (and a lover of bargins to be had at Lidls!) - and would like to stop off and buy supplies on the way there.. is there a store anywhere nearby that we could stop off at ?
Thanks!

Depending where in the New Forest you are staying.

If you are coming in on the M27 there is one at Totton that you could stop off at on your way in. Get off the M27 at junction 3 and head down the M271. At the bottom turn right towards Lyndhurst. After the traffic lights take the sliproad on the left and follow the road round to the left. Lidl is set a bit back from the road about half a mile down. When you have finished just follow signs for Lyndhurst and you are in the New Forest.

There is one at New Milton which is between Lymington and Christchurch.

We're staying at Hollands Wood - will be coming off M27.. you star, thank you very much indeed! I will print off your paragraph and all is good.

Hi HappyJoyful

UKSky has given you good directions and fyi this is a much better route into that part of the New Forest too. Lyndhurst is to be avoided at all costs during the summer especially at the weekends (Friday evening and Saturdays are very busy coming from the motorway). Locals often come off the M27 at Junction 1, down the M271, onto the A35 heading west and then pass through Lyndhurst via Ashurst - it avoids the traffic Lights at Lyndhurst and the long queues of traffic entering Lyndhurst from Cadnam on the A337.

So once you are finished at Lidl, don't go back onto the motorway, you just need to divert back onto the A35 heading west, it's not difficult when you know the area but my directions would confuse you so best check route on the map or put Ashurst in as a 'Via' on your sat nav!

Hope you have a lovely time!

Ahh thanks for the tip off leelee, I have thought that hopefully it wont be too bad tomorrow (if we escape earlier enough - never an easy feat I am discovering with a toddler in tow) fingers crossed for sunshine.

You need a parking ticket at Lidl in Totton, it's free parking but you still need a ticket and loads of people get caught out. Also, Argos, a Poundstretcher type place (can't remember name) and a petstore are in the same parade of shops which might be handy for any last minute things. Have a good holiday!

Just wanted to say a thank you to the ace directions - would never have found it without - think DH thought I was bonkers as I pulled this out and gave them to him to read to me as we pulled off the motorway. Had a great shop in Lidl saved a pretty penny and a great time in camping - beautiful weather. thanks for last minute tip, yes also popped into the poundstretcher and left DH with sleeping toddler so managed to avoid ticket.
Thanks again!
