Help!

Realised yesterday that my son's passport has expired and I haven't been able to get an urgent appointment this week to renew so it looks as though we will lose/miss the camping holiday in France. Kicking myself now at not checking.

Anyway my question is do you think its likely that I will get any availability in Dorset/Devon from this sunday for a week with a tent? ANy ideas?

Sounds like you need to ring around. You could be lucky as the weather has been horrendous and peeps have dumped their tents and refused to camp anymore.

Otherwise, take a look at the ukcampsite.co.uk to see if there are any you don't need to book on. Some campsites just let you turn up and let you have available spaces.

Does that help?

We have had to do same thing, change plans to UK camping as passports (two of them!) have run out and no appointments left. At least I know someone else has done the same thing!

Can't decide where to go Uk though, did Dorset last yr and would like somewhere different. Maybe Isle of White.

I'm just looking at campsite websites, lots have online availability or you can email/phone ones you like the look of. ukcampsite.co.uk is great for reviews.

THanks. In the end I decided to just turn up at my nearest passport office and plead to get in as I was going to lose £300 on the holiday. Luckily I managed to get in and get his passport. Will try ukcampsite for later in the summer
