Anyone had a tent zip or hole repaired?

We've just been camping overnight. Second time with this tent, only the third night.

We managed to wreck the main door zip - it kept getting caught in the waterproof flappy thing, and on freeing it for the tenth time the zip just stopped connecting with itself. We had to velcro the door shut and freeze for the rest of the night Hmm

Then I did something much more stupid. I'd been using the stove on a table just inside the tent and once I'd finished I left it a bit too close to the side of the tent. A breeze picked up and the tent walls started flapping a little bit, touched the hot stove and melted two little holes [slaps forehead].

So...is it worth having the zip replaced and patching the holes?
I'm going to email Vango to see what they say, but I expect it will be expensive.

We repaired a hole in our tent with the kit they provided with the tent. Worked OK and still repaired now. We've used the tent a load more times since.

I'd give Vango a call to find out how much to replace the zip. I would suggest it shouldn't happen on the third night of use though, unless you were using too much force?

DH was a bit desperate for the loo :o
I suspect a bit too much force was used jamming it in the first place, and certainly in trying to free it.

I posted about tent repairs and someone suggested the following two links if the manufacturer is unhelpful/expensive. Presumably you can send the tent to either if you're nowhere near.

Lancashire

scotland

These are great, thank you so much.

In the heat of the moment I put a bid in on a used one on ebay, but if I get outbid I'll definitely use one of these - and report back.
